There is a paper, plastic, cardboard, tin cans and glass recycling point at the playing fields on the west end of the village. There is also a glass recycling point at the foot of the Spailings, leading to Canmore. Full recycling facilities are available at the Council’s Crows Nest recycling centre in Banchory.
There is a Public Access Defibrillator located in the village hall porch on the corner of North Deeside Road and the Spailings.
The village has public toilets (with wheelchair access) located between the village hall and the bowling club towards the west end of the village. The toilets are open all day.
The Phone Box no longer has a phone but is now community owned and run by the Community Association as an information point and book swap/borrow point for residents and visitors. Feel free to pop in and browse the information and borrow or swap books.
There is a notice board outside the General Store which gives details of what is on in the local area and some tourist information and a book exchange/borrowing service are in the red telephone booth outside the Old Smiddy.
There is another notice board in the village Hall Porch which also gives information on some local events and activities.
